Application of membrane filtration technology in glucose refining
Glucose, also known as dextrose, is an indispensable carbohydrate for humans and the main source of required heat energy.
Glucose is obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of starch milk under certain conditions. In the process of preparing glucose, there will be some impurities such as protein, fat, fiber, pigment, salt, etc., which directly affect the quality of glucose.
Membrane filtration technology has a very wide application in the refining of glucose. At present, the main process used is a combination of ceramic membrane, organic membrane, and continuous ion exchange desalination.
Membrane filtration technology refines glucose, with a simple production process and a short process. It can effectively remove fat, macromolecular protein, fiber, pigment and other substances in the saccharification liquid. The sugar solution filtered by the membrane combination is clear and transparent, with a light transmittance of more than 97%, which can save the activated carbon decolorization process in the traditional process, and can also greatly reduce the amount of filter aid used in the front section, saving the production cost of the enterprise.
The continuous ion exchange technology can replace the traditional fixed bed process, which can save more than 70% of resin, more than 40% of regeneration agent, and more than 60% of washing water, which not only greatly reduces production costs, but also reduces environmental pressure.
The nanofiltration separation technology can replace the traditional crystallization centrifugal process to prepare pharmaceutical-grade glucose, with a product purity of up to 99.5% and stable product quality.
